New Start on Campus, New Life in Christ

Kyndall (right) decided to place her faith in Jesus!

“I’m not sure what I believe,” Kyndall shared. “I grew up around religion, but it seems like just a bunch of rules.” Kyndall, a freshman new to Sac State and living in the dorms, is one of the hundreds of students who our staff team met during the first week of school. She stopped by our table and filled out a survey saying that she is interested in growing her faith while in college and open to meeting up with someone to talk about faith. Kyndall (pictured above) and I met up for coffee three days later.

Kyndall grew up in the Bay Area and had been exposed to Christianity, but had never heard that God actually wanted a relationship with her. We talked through the gospel—about our need, Jesus’ grace, and his invitation to relationship. She seemed to absorb our conversation seriously and when I asked if she wanted a relationship with Jesus, she said yes! Kyndall prayed that Jesus would be her savior and Lord!

Ava, a former athiest, is excited to grow in her faith and connect with other believers.

Pray for Kyndall and others like her who want to grow in their faith while in college. The same day I met with Kyndall, I met Ava (pictured above), a former atheist, who is so excited to connect with other believers, and Taylor (below, middle) who brought her friend, Khi (below, right), along to Bible study and church. Pray for them to get connected and be lights on campus!

Thank you for investing in these students’ lives! We’re grateful for you!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Praise God for Kyndall’s new faith in Christ! Pray that God guards her new faith, and for strong community for her!
  • Praise God for Taylor, Khi, Gabby, Ava, Eden, and others who are eager to grow in faith while in college! Pray that God would equip them to reach those around them with the gospel!
  • Pray for our fall retreat (Sep 25th-27th). Pray that many students would come and get connected to the Lord and each other!
