One Step of Faith After Another

“I have relied more on God!” Allison said when looking back on her first year at Sac Sate.

Allison (pictured, far right) is the student I shared about earlier in the year, who took the discipleship material we’d been talking through and used it to share the gospel with her sister at home. Over the year, I (Cameron) have had the privilege of watching Allison take steps of faith, learn how to have spiritual conversations, and depend on Jesus in the hard times.

Last week, while having spiritual conversations on campus, Allison and I approached two girls, Jackie and Brianna, who like Allison, come from Catholic backgrounds. When asked about the main message of Jesus, neither girl felt like they had a good answer, but were open to talking more.  Allison and I were able to share about God’s love for them, Jesus’ sacrifice, and His invitation for relationship through a tool Cru uses to share the gospel. Brianna was intrigued but wasn’t ready to surrender her life to Jesus, but Jackie said she wanted to have a personal relationship with Christ! Allison and I were able to pray with the girls and encourage them to continue learning about God and invited them to check out a Bible study.

As we walked away, Allison and I were able to reflect on the privilege it was to hear Jackie indicate a desire to walk with God and that he would use us to be a part of her journey!

Thank you for partnering with us! Your investment and prayers are impacting the lives and eternities of students who are growing in faith and those just hearing of Jesus for the first time! We’re grateful for you!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Praise God for Jackie’s step of faith to trust Jesus!! Pray for Jackie to get connected to a faith community and grow in her relationship with the Lord. And pray for Brianna to know God’s love and trust Him with her life.

Praise God also for Allison and for using her steps of faith this year! Pray for Allison as she heads home for summer, that she’d seek the Lord and know His nearness.

Pray for the 12 students who are transferring, graduating, or going on mission this summer! Pray God would bless them in finding community and transitioning to their next season.

Pray for our family as we head into summer. The last year held multiple losses for us as well as many sweet blessings, and we are praying for connection, reflection, and respite.
